Chloe also revealed she’s had countless messages from others who have had the same issue with the shelter she got her feline from.
But Chloe’s followers on TikTok shared their thoughts on the potential scam she’s facing.
One shared: “Ain’t no way she’s an African Savannah cat, I need to see the DNA test on that one.”
Another chimed in: “That looks like a standard tabby cat…”
Now after months of debate, she’s deciding whether or not to take legal action against the shelter which may have put her out of £800.
Chloe shared: “As of now, I don’t know if I want to take legal action against the shelter.
“It costs money, and I don’t know exactly how to go about doing that.”
She continued: “I can’t help but feel kind of obligated to take action. But the shelter director kind of scares me and I’m just trying to live my life.
“But not only has she scammed me, but she scammed a lot of other people out of a lot of money.”
In a Facebook post, the shelter, Noah Project, explained that the cat’s hefty price wasn’t related to the breed.
The litter Puka was a part of were all sick, and each kitten reportedly cost £400 each to treat – as well as an all-meat diet to heal.
The shelter claimed: “All of our animals leave here fixed and with all of their shots and preventatives, as well as being microchipped.
“This all costs money. No one is making a profit here, everything goes back into the shelter for medical supplies, food, etc.”
Noah Project Director Mashele Garrett-Arndt has said that Chloe isn’t being truthful about the situation.
Mashele said: “I’m so mad about this because she’s not only lying about this story but she’s making a profit off this.”
